Central California Backyard Wedding

As wedding planners, we are seeing an abundance of intimate weddings. Backyard weddings are a creative option to take the pressure off of planning a large event and celebrate with a smaller guest count. Gwen and Mark’s dream day was filled with elegant designs with a focus on friends and family. The lush outdoor location at their private estate venue was so romantic. We absolutely loved planning this central California backyard wedding and can’t wait to share more details from the day!

Details

Muted purple, navy blue, and green tones created the refreshing color palette for this backyard wedding day. Modern invitations introduced guests to the vision of the wedding, featuring a print of fresh greenery and tied with a simplistic ribbon. Wedding planning tip: include detailed directions to your wedding venue within your invitation. That way, your guests know exactly where to go on the day of the event! Gwen and Mark’s silver wedding bands were so stunning against their fresh florals with white roses and blue thistles. We loved the different color bridesmaid dresses in various purple tones to complement the design of the day.The details for this wedding truly allowed the beauty of the private estate to shine.

Ceremony

This ceremony was filled with joy and laughter! Just look at the faces on the bride and groom. Guests sat in wooden ceremony chairs and the entryway of the private estate venue served as the backdrop. The natural stone and surrounding trees of the venue allowed the decor to remain minimalistic. If you are planning a modern design for your wedding day, keep the design simple! Gwen and Mark’s wedding party stood by their side and they said ‘I do’.

Bride and Groom

For her wedding day style, Gwen focused on a natural glam inspiration. She wore loose waves and neutral makeup. Her stunning halter gown featured a lace bodice and a romantic train. For her accessories, she wore simple pearl earrings and carried a greenery focused bouquet with pops of white and indigo. Mark wore a navy suit with a complimenting light blue tie and leather dress shoes. His boutonniere was also filled with greenery and an indigo blue thistle. The newlyweds captured couple photos after the ceremony while guests enjoyed the venue. They took photos in the courtyard terrace surrounded by trees and blooming florals.

Reception

After the ceremony and photography, it was time for the party to begin! Guests sat at round tables decorated with florals and white linens under twinkling string lights. The wedding party sat at a wooden family style table with matching decor. They enjoyed an intimate dinner with guests taking time to enjoy toasts and speeches. The extra quality time that a backyard wedding allows is so special. After cutting their three tiered cake, Gwen and Mark danced the night away with friends and family!
